You know this thing about saturday mornings, sometimes, you know the interesting ones from the very moment you wake up, meanwhile some of them are as frustrating as monday 7:30 am. I live in yard where things are expected to be done rightly and at the appropriate time, "there is time for everything", they will say, funny enough they help you plan your day, regardless of your own plans, PAUSE!! i'm sorry, nobody wants to care if you are ok with it or not PLAY!! it's a sure bet, you are not getting it your own way.
You know, Igbo language is gradually going into extinction but that's not most parents business because they simply want their children to copy the whole of the white man's life," now chill" mine is a different case altogether, we have our local dialect aside the central Igbo we communicate with, my mum is very sure to snub you the very moment you start to speak Igbo or English, after you must have been warned countless times, learn to be conversant with your local tongue, little chances are often attached to this common thing, you may never know of, don't forget we are still seated after morning devotion on this saturday morning, half way, i was still at sleep , meanwhile i was the headline for the day's moral class, CHINEMEREM, you try your best to speak the dialect but you still have more to learn, PAUSE!! ahhn, how else do you people want me to speak this thing again hmmm, PLAY!! at this point i just hear blah blah blah, only to find out that i slept off at the meeting, the rest of the yard members starts to laugh, hmm!, it's not a good one.
Automatic change of topic because i have just triggered the vex from the soul, chaii!! odikwa mma, now each and everyone of us will have to partake in this shaking of calabash, as my yard people will call it, if you ask me, more about this part, nobody gets to feel it, because we are all in this together, my mum will give records of our behaviours for the week and you are not going to get the chance to defend that part of your life just stay chill receive your punishment, apologize and finally say thank you, PAUSE!! this is the part where i say this is bully, i mean saying i'm sorry is very much acceptable but saying thank you to shout that you probably did not deserve is very annoying and you dare not miss out to say your thank you.
Akara, bread and pap or sometimes, pap and okpa is the usual, after sitting down for at least two to three hours, then everyone gets to despatch to their various work post, kitchen, is one frustrating place in this yard, CHINEMEREM!!!!! that is what i keep hearing until breakfast is served, PAUSE!! madam!, it's not upto 5 minutes we all just left the gathering of umunna and all i can hear, is how i am not able to serve breakfast as early as before 8:00am, PLAY!! each time, i am called to ask how far, all i say is fine, it is remaining small for me to finish, lol!.
Family people, this saturday did not start well but trusting my yard people, they will help it end well, you just can't get angry outside that gathering because, once breakfast is served to the higher authorities, then the rest of us enjoy to eat together and outside and on this table, believe me , some will end up getting more annoyed, the boys will not make it any easier for you, especially if you were called at the supreme court that very morning, naso everybody go carry you catch cruise, and they will summarise it for you by saying, onye iwe ewelu, okaraya n' njo (if you get angry, it will become worse for you).
My yard is a sweet place to learn a lot and my yard people are my family members, i know we all have have different struggles on some saturday mornings, you can always share your experiences with me, on my comment box, love all.

Our yard people are wonderful people
